# Setting up your Crypsis

## Setup

### Antenna

The difference between these two is that the larger one has a better reach. They are both so-called Octa Channel Antenna, which carries the goal of having support for all 4G bands worldwide. If you think a different antenna would perform better in your case you are free to use so. Also, make sure the Antenna is connected like below to the outside connector.

The inner one is for GPS which at this moment and time is not supported but has been added for future support. This also makes us able to use the separate radio part as a beacon/tracker. So please let us know if you are interested. If you install the antenna make sure you have covered the exposed solder pads on the antenna with some tape. These pads are Grounded which could cause short circuits if you put the antenna against the board. Doesn't break the board but also causes it to not work.

### SD card

Just put the SD Card in the Crypsis module like the picture below make sure it's formatted as FAT32 they should all be ready by us.

![Make sure its orientated like this ](https://1957962940-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MWEjxvYparZinAu2pan%2Fuploads%2Fpc3ylB98YnacnP72Y3F5%2F56eaa2cf02a3bebe02ae1eeb3dea2948.png?alt=media\&token=c45202f6-31f0-4062-8b81-361d6307a188)

### Sim card

Simcard should be installed like the image below to make sure there is no pin code on the sim card. This has no point furthermore it simplifies the code hugely. Just get something like a Disposable Simcard and put like 50$ on it and should last you for a long time.

![Make sure simcard is orientated like this facing down and the side with cornor go's in first.](https://1957962940-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MWEjxvYparZinAu2pan%2Fuploads%2F4yN0KMCUtmdCkyWwYOlr%2F6940ce3c02f0148ba82d3c07b1bb91cf.png?alt=media\&token=81153675-6d68-4513-bc1c-983f1a89d5e0)

## Implementation

Here we are gonna talk about the many ways you can implement your system. But you as the intended user probably have a better idea of how to implement it. We will go into the basics of it and some things you need to keep in mind.

### USB hub keyboard IMPORTANT

If a keyboard for instance has the ability to connect to another USB device it contains a so-called USB hub. We can't tap these lines since the data that is being sent isn't raw HID or keyboard values but combined data that is being sorted by a driver on the computer. If you have one of these keyboards you can use the EMBED version and tap the possible traces that come off the raw input to USB converter. Please let us know if you need assistance or advice. We are happy to provide you with that.

### Shrink Tube

Use the shrink tube as you like if you heat it up it becomes smaller it's great to hide the antenna for instance around the Crypsis module. Use it how you like but make sure no shorts can be caused for instance by the exposed pads on the antenna tape of what has to be taped off.

### USB Extenders

As seen in the original release video you can use the cable extenders to hide the device behind the desk or reroute the cable to a less obvious point. In your kit, you should have three different lengths 0,5-1-1,5m. All these cables are decent quality simple things to help you hide. It makes your device quickly deployable and easier to hide than sticking it directly into a dock or something like that. You can also tape it to the back of something somewhere away from sight. It's important that you make sure you either change the vid/pid en product name to something generic or to the original keyboard connected. The latter is the better option some people might have Anti-ducky things installed which check these values and prevent new devices from being hooked up. It isn't new if VID and PID are the same.

### Embed

The embedded device has as goal to be placed within a keyboard. Most of the time there is enough room in case there is very little room you could make space by disconnecting the radio from the baseboard to make it flatter. To implement the embed you have to re-rout the USB cable that comes from the controller board on the top right to the place you want to put the module. Then you have to solder with the color codes that are displayed you solder the wire on both sides and then cut the wires through the middle since our system full run's MITM. Also, make sure you have set the VID and PID to similar as before you can test this in your own PC, or sometimes on the bottom of a keyboard it says the vid/pid. We will make a short in install video in the near future, for now, if you have any questions please contact us we should be able to reply within the hour.

We have included low melt solder wire so you can use something like a gas based soldering iron and its very quick and easy. Try not to breath it to much.
